Dangerously Chic

fashion sketch drawing
drawn by Heather Fonseca

Apparently, dressing fashionably at the airport is a First Offense. There I was, rushing through the security at JFK, jamming to the Yeah Yeah Yeah's, when someone hooked their finger on the belt loop of my Rag & Bone slim fit skinnies, yanking me backward and hollering, 'Stand back!' Oddly enough, Karen O sang, 'WAIT! They don't love you like I love you!' in my ear while I watched in horror as my Saffiano Cuir brushed against the dirty public floor. Next thing I know, i'm crouching to grasp my baby as two security guards grasp either of my toothpick arms. 'Excuse me but please step over here. We detected a strange object in your luggage.' After nearly a half hour of Mac dumping,  Hanky Panky panty ravaging and silk blouse abuse,  they came to the conclusion that the supposed contraband was indeed, the heel of my Fendi studded booties. I didn't picture my first meeting with The Joan Rangers to involve a game of Guess me From Pat Down.

Love your writing.

Don't like the fact that you're pirating artwork. A link to a Tumblr asset is NOT enough.
Please give Heather proper attribution for her sketch! http://society6.com/HeatherFonseca/A-Girl-and-Her-Phone-kkw_Print#1=45

I'll admit, it took me quite a while to find a source myself, but this is what you need to do if you're posting images that aren't your own.
I'm not saying you posted this image maliciously, just that legally you must attribute.
Apologies if I sound harsh.

ps: just saw your disclaimer on the sidebar.
You need to find your sources, not have your sources discover their work being used by you.

And yes, I felt this was important enough to warrant another bout with that horrid Word Verification

Hi Lavinia, My name is Heather Fonseca and I drew the artwork you have on this post. I'm OK with my work being shared online but of course it's always nice to get a shout out. However please do be careful about doing this. What Anne Bray says is true. It's not legal to use artwork without permission. I read an article a while back about an a blogger being sued, successfully, for using artwork that she didn't have the rights to.

The artwork is called "A Girl and Her Phone" and I wrote about it here: http://heatherfonseca.com/2013/04/03/a-girl-and-her-phone/

Thanks.
